Wasn't the restaurant called " The Athenian ", on Van Ness, about two blocks west of Courthouse Park?

My 88 year-old mother can't remember the name of the place, but says it was near the old Fresno Hotel.

I am researching the history of the Fresno Builders Exchange, and would love to know more about your memories of the Exchange and Harry Cayford!

The address of the Builders Exchange was 1837 Merced, if that helps.

I knew Charley Purcell as a teenager, in Up with People, Sing out. He was the nicest guy, can still see his face. He left for Vietnam right out of High School. We also lost a kid from our class of 67 from Bullard High. Small world. Here he is as a little boy. Very Handsome. His girlfriend was Val Antonetti his teenage years. He had more than one girlfriend but I knew Val and her Sister Chris Antonetti. I took was at the Vietname Memorial in DC.

Many Thanks
Many thanks to Steve H for starting this thread and posting so many pictures from the
1950's. Amazing that you saved and archived them for so many years. I lived very close
to Roeding Park and climbed all over that locomotive growing up. I was born in Fresno
in 1952, so you are older than I by a number of years. Thanks again!
