RIP Al Geller (Responsible for the Fresno Falcons)

Post by Big J » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:28 pm

Mr. Geller was responsible for the Fresno Falcons, Harlem Globetrotters coming to town, lots of other sporting events and much much more. Plus he was a great philanthropist. He'll be missed.

I am very saddened to learn of the death of my guardian, hero, Al Geller. I had wonderful memories living in his home fro years. He was my role model learning about doing kindness and good to others. He was a true Jewish tzadik of our time

Thanks very much for sharing. I met him briefly, a couple times, through business when I was very young. He seemed like a truly nice man.

Al came up in a conversation we were having last night, which led me to find this about 14 years late. I use to go see him in his office in central Fresno to grab candy and hang out when I was really little and remember him being a nice person.

I met Al Geller at a Fresno Falcons hockey game with my husband Bob Cetti years ago.
Over time we both realized the compassion and love he had for the kids he opened his heart to.
RIP Al
